So you have decided to start selling on line. There are several ways of stocking yourself with product to sell. You probably already have some things around the house to start with. I recommend you start listing those items but with these things in mind.

When selling on eBay or Amazon the buyer pays for shipping or any insurance. If you do your research and the weight is heavy and expensive to ship make sure not to list it if it makes it unreasonable to buy. For example: 16 pound bowling ball that cost $10 but is $20 to ship to the customer. Is it worth $30? All glass should be insured as well.

Now you have practice listing but have run out of things to sell. What hobbies or interest do you have? You will be more of an expert to write ads for things you know. Before you go on your hunt for things to sell please go to eBay and do some research. What you are going to sell, see if its selling, and how many other sellers are selling it.

Now places to find your product.

Garage sales, thrift stores, relatives, auctions, estate sales, flea markets and newspaper classifieds all are great places to find items you can sell at a great profit. I know big mystery but doing a little leg work can be fun like looking for treasure.

For example: You begin by deciding you will sell mens vintage sweaters. Now you know Ralph Lauren has some resell value because you looked it up on eBay and know what to look for. You see one at a thrift store that has a flag knitted into it. You buy the sweater for $5 and go home. The resell value on eBay is around $50. Great profit for one purchase. I had one sweater bought for $5 and sold on eBay for $400.

Buy in bulk anywhere. Lets say you find a box of children’s clothes at a garage sale with nothing but name brand articles in it. Lets say there are 20 pieces in there. You by it for $5. Sell all 20 for $50 to $100 for another big profit. I bought 60 toy cars for $20 and sold them for $300.

You start slow and keep your customers happy.

Get on line and find businesses that will allow you to buy in bulk and ship it to you. I bought a lot of 1000 bandannas for $30. Not my thing but I put them on my site for 10 for $7 and sold out.

STAY AWAY from on line drop-shippers who claim they will ship to your customer direct and they have thousands of products for you to sell. What they mean to say is they have 10000 sellers selling the exact same stuff and it drives the price down which means profit.

Find your niche by researching what is selling but has the fewest sellers. You want to be noticed.
